Captured ship: La Prudence of Boulogne (master Gabriel Paillet (docketed as Francois Giron)).
History: a French ship (70 tons, 10 men), bound from La Rochelle to Bordeaux in ballast; taken on 19/30 April 1748 by the privateer Hope (John Ahier commanding), and ransomed for 2,750 livres before the captors returned to Guernsey with a hostage.
