Captured ship: Providence of Calais (master Nicolas Benoy).
History: a French boat (4 tons, 4 men, 2 boys), fishing out of Calais; taken on 2/13 March 1745 a league from Calais by the privateer Sutherland (John Sutherland commanding) and brought into Dover. Papers also cover the capture of the similar vessel St Philippe (master Antoine Mackinon).
