Captured ship: St Nicolas or St Nicolaus of Flensburg (master Jens Jordt or Dordt).
History: a Danish merchant ship (44 lasts, 7 men), bound from Bordeaux to Flensburg, laden with wine, brandy, vinegar, turpentine, rosin, corks, indigo, coffee, sweetmeats, Hungary water, oil and almonds; taken on 31 March / 11 April 1748 between Dover and Dungeness by the privateer Rainbow (Joseph Childs commanding), and brought into Dover.
