Description

Captured ship: St Nicolas of Brehal or Brehac (master John Enson or Euson).

History: a French coasting vessel (70 tons, 6 men), bound from Morlaix to Le Croisic, laden with wood; taken on 16/27 November 1746 about 6 leagues from Le Croisic by the privateer Adventure (John Lauga commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 1]: set of three examinations, taken at Guernsey;
  • [CP 2]: allegation.

No ship's papers were found on board the St Nicolas according to a note sent to the High Court of Admiralty with the papers of the Jean Elizabeth (HCA 32/124/14).
