Description

Captured ship: St Nicholas of Granville (master François Le Rond or Le Bond).

History: a French merchant ship (90 tons, 19 men), bound from Newfoundland to Dieppe or Honfleur, laden with fish and oil; taken on 25 August / 5 September 1744 off Ushant by the privateer Caesar (George North commanding), and brought into Southampton.
