Description

Captured ship: La Neréide of Bordeaux (master Antoine Rouillié).

History: a French merchant ship (120 tons, 10 guns, 27 men), bound from Martinique to Bordeaux, laden with sugar and coffee; taken on 6/17 June 1744 about 50 leagues off the Surlings [Isles of Scilly] by the privateer Constantine (John Read commanding), and brought into the River Thames.

  • [CP 5]: allegation;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 11 of the 119 ship's papers (SP C numbers).

Ship's Papers numbered SP 1-SP 53, SP 1A- 55A, SP 1B-31 B and SP 1C-11C.
