Captured ship: Nuestra Senora del Carmen of Vigo (commander Santiago Martin de Benito, and later Lucas Constantino).
History: a Spanish privateer (40 tons, 22 guns, 117 men), bound from Vigo on a cruise; taken on 22 April/3 May 1743 about 20 leagues west of Vigo by HMS Hampshire (Thomas Limeburner commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
