Description

Captured ship: Nuestra Senora del Carmen (master Francisco del Valle).

History: a Spanish ship (110 tons, 7 men), bound from London to Bilboa, laden with woollen manufactures; seized upon the outbreak of the war in 1739 on the River Thames.

  • [CP 1]: attestation of British property loaded aboard the Nuestra Senora del Carmen and Nuestra Senora De Begona (master Pable De Y Dareda) made by British merchants in case of the outbreak of war with Spain, 25 July 1739;
  • [CP 2]: allegation, brought into court 1 December 1739;
  • [CP 3-CP 5]: commission of appraisement, ship's inventory and affidavit as to faithful execution thereof;
  • [CP 6]: bill of sale of Nuestra Senora del Carmen.

[Decision: condemned as prize, 8 December 1739]
