Captured ship: Notre Dame de Grace of Nantes (master Louis Destaritz).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (300 tons, 16 guns, 45 men), bound from Cap Francois, Saint Domingue to Nantes, laden with sugar, indigo and coffee; taken on 24 June/4 July 1747 about 60 leagues west of Belle Isle by HMS Oxford (Smith Callis commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
