Description

Captured ship: La Nuestra Señora del Carmen y San Joseph of Gijón (master Domingo Martinez).

History: a Spanish ship (120 tons, 11 men and a passenger), bound from Villaviciosa to Corunna, laden with oak timbers; taken on 13/24 September 1746 off Galica in latitude 44°N by the privateer Sheerness (William Richardson commanding), and brought into Bristol.

  • [CP 6-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 17 ship's papers, docket.
