Captured ship: Notre Dame de Bon Voyage otherwise L'Unionof Cadiz (master Antoine Garoutte or Garaut).
History: a French ship (400 tons, 30 guns, 102 men and 13 passengers) with a Spanish register and a French privateering commission, bound from Cartagena to Cadiz, laden with snuff, wood, planks, cocoa, hides, gold and silver; taken on 27 January / 7 February 1748 off Cadiz by the HMS Bristol (William Montague commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
