Captured ship: Neptune of Olonne (master Jean Palliau).
History: a French merchant ship (130 tons, 2 guns, 18men), bound from Newfoundland to Martinique and Saint Domingue, and now for Nantes, laden with sugar, coffee and red wood; taken on 28 June / 8 July 1747 at latitude 46°40'N about 10 leagues WSW of the Isle de Re by HMS Lyon (Arthur Scott esq commanding), and brought first into Plymouth and then into the River Thames.
