Captured ship: Nuestra Senora de las Nieves y San Juan Baptista or San Juan Baptista otherwise El Constante of Tenerife (master Francisco Xavier Castellanos).
History: a Spanish merchant ship (260 tons, 24 guns, 50 men, 14 passengers, all Spanish except a French boy saved out of a wreck), bound from La Guaira, Caracas to Santa Cruz, Tenerife, laden with cocoa, dollars in specie, silver and gold; taken in fight on 26 November / 7 December 1741 about 150 leagues east of Bermuda in latitude 33° 30' by HMS Superb (Hon William Hervey commanding), and brought first into Kinsale, and then into Plymouth.
