Captured ship: De Maria of Amsterdam, formerly the Dolphin (master Dirk Tjallasz).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (120 tons, 9 men), bound from San Sebastian to Cartagena, laden with iron, iron spikes, wooden hoops and cider; taken on 25 June/ 6 July 1747 off the coast between SanSebastian and Bilbao by the privateer Sandwich (James Gaul commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
