Captured ship: Le Mercure Volant (master Joannes Lotteere otherwise Jean Lottère or Lothiere).
History: a French privateer (120 tons, 10 guns, 70 men); taken on 30 July/9 August 1744 off the Dutch coast by HMS Hound (William Gordon commanding), and brought into Sheerness.
