Description

Captured ship: Marechal de Saxe (master Jean Baptiste Caillot or Coilliot.

History: a French privateer (60 tons, 6 guns, 52 men), bound on a cruise; taken in fight on 14/25 June 1747 eight leagues north of Cap Le Hague by HMS Otter (William Cust commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
