Captured ship: Marechal de Saxe of Nantes (master Jean Colline).
History: a French merchant ship (130 tons, 8 guns, 20 men), bound from Martinique via Léogâne, Saint Domingue, to France, laden with sugar and indigo; taken on 5/16 June 1747 in latitude 48°10' by HMS Eagle (George Bridges commanding), and brought into the Downs.
