Captured ship: St Marc (master Claude Jean Andubon).
History: a French merchant ship (140 tons, one carriage gun fired, 15 men), bound from Bordeaux to Louisburg and Cape Breton, laden with salt, wine, woollen cloth, butter, flour, candles, soap, lead, biscuits, oil, vinegar and brandy; taken on 8/19 July 1744 off the Spanish coast at Cape Pines by the privateer Success (John Le Gross commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
