Description

Captured ship: La Mignonette (master Jean Malo Regnier).

History: a French fishing ship (100 tons, 30 men), bound from the River of Canada to St Malo, laden with fish and oil; taken on 9/[20] September 1746 in latitude 47° by the privateer Blandford (George Stonehouse commanding), and ransomed for 1200 livres due to the risk of recapture.

  • [CP 1-CP 4]: standing interrogatories, two examinations of the captors, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 5]: affidavid as to the ransom of the ship;
  • [CP 6]: attestation as to the ransomú;
  • [CP 7]: allegation.
