History: an English merchant ship [(180 tons, 8 guns, 24 men)], bound from Newcastle to Carolina, [laden with coals; taken by the French privateers La Royale (Peter Lesebore commanding) and La Duchesse (John Sallé commanding) at the end of May in the Shetland Islands; retaken on 4/15 July 1745 at Ostend] by HMS Bridgewater (George Grahame commanding), HMS Sheerness (William Gordon commanding) and HMS Ursula (John Ferguson commanding), and [brought into London].
