Captured ship: Marlborough of La Flotte en Re (master Pierre Houin or Hovin).
History: a French merchant ship (60 tons, 7 men), bound from Amsterdam to Bayonne, laden with several types of iron guns, gunpowder [warlike stores] and different fabrics; taken on 1/12 September 1741 between Dover and Calais by HMS Swift (William Bladwell commanding), and brought into Dover.
