Description

Captured ship: La Méduse or La Méduze (master Jean Laparade).

History: a French privateer (160 tons, 14 guns, 102 men), bound on a cruise; taken on 14/25 May 1748 at latitude 48° by HMS Anglesea (Robert Duff commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6]: allegation;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 2 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 2.
