Captured ship: Mediterranean snow of Bristol (master John Bond).
History: an English ship (New England built, snow, 150 tons, 10 carriage guns, 1 swivel gun, 8 men and a boy passenger, 17 prize crew), bound from Jamaica to Bristol, laden with sugar, cotton, pimento and other goods; taken on 29 March / 9 April 1742 at latitude 51°15'N, 11°15'W ’ by a Spanish privateer, retaken on 3/12 April 1742 at 49°20 off the Isles of Scilly by HMS Hector (Yelverton Peyton commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
