Captured ship: Marquis d'Aumont (given as Marquis d'Amon) of Bayonne (master Pierre Harregolier or Hirigoyen).
History: a French merchant ship (240 tons, 29 men), bound from Bayonne to Saint Domingue, laden with stones, wine, flour, candles, butter, shoes, pitch, wooden hoops and other tools and utensils for the land; taken on 20 February / 3 March 1748 at latitude 46-47° by the privateers Grand Alexander (Matthew Combe commanding) and Hawk (Joseph Buckley commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
