Captured ship: Madelaine (master Pierre Berton).
History: a French merchant ship (44 tons, 6 men), bound from Nantes to Port Louis, laden with wine, cheese and dry fish; taken on 10/21 February 1745 near Belle Isle by the privateer Rochester Sloop (Joseph Cockburn commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
