Captured ship: Lydia of Poole (master Robert or William Farewell).
History: an English merchant ship (50 tons, 14 men), bound from Newfoundland to Aveiro, laden with dry codfish; taken on 26 November / 11 December 1744 by the Spanish; retaken the next day off Cape Finisterre by HMS Hampshire (George Murray commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
