Description

Captured ship: St Louis of Dieppe (master Pierre Flouest, previously Louis Le Roy).

History: a French fishing vessel (15 tons, 15 men) bound from Dieppe; taken on 4/15 June 1745 between Hastings and the French coast by HMS Jamaica (James Webb commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 4]: standing interrogatories, two examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 5]: allegation;
  • [CP 6]: abstract and translation of the 2 ship's papers;
  • [CP 7]: attestation as to the value of the vessel.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 2.
