Captured ship: Leopard (master Slater, or as a French prize, Martin Legarralde).
History: an English ship (100 tons, 12 men and 5 prisoners), bound from [South Carolina? to England], laden with tobacco, iron and staves; taken by the French privateer Basquaise (Jean Sanpile commanding) and sent for St Jean de Luz; taken on 10 December 1745/1 January 1746 at latitude 51° in the Bay of Biscay by the privateer Dursley (Organ Furnell commanding), and brought into Bristol.
