Description

Captured ship: St Laurent (master Jean Jacques Masser).

History: a French ship (50 tons, 8 guns, 10 men), bound from Alexandria to Tripoli; taken on 17/28 July 1744 off Castelrosso by the privateer Ruby (Robert Saunders commanding), and brought into Zante.

  • [CP 1]: allegation;
  • [CP 2-CP 5]: attestation as to papers, wrapper, abstracts and translations of the 3 ship's papers;

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 3:

  • SP 1: examinations taken at Zante, in Italian;
  • SP 2-SP 3: muster roll, ship's pass;

[Decision: condemned as prize, 10 December 1744]
