Description

Captured ship: Juffrouw Anna Elizabeth (master Daniel Schultz).

History: a Prussian merchant ship (100 tons, 12 men), bound from Bordeaux to Amsterdam, laden with wine, juniper berries, prunes and chestnuts; taken on 7/18 January 1748 near Beachy Head by the privateers Salamander (Henry Staffield commanding) and Dolphin (Thomas Pierce commanding), and brought into Rye, where she was damaged by laying on bad ground.

  • [CP 84-CP 86]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 28 ship's papers [all these papers were restored].
