Captured ship: Jonge Johan (master Thomas Siefers).
History: a Lubeck merchant ship (97 tons, 12 men 3 boys), bound from Bordeaux to Hamburg, laden with wine, sugar, indigo, vinegar, paper, etc; taken on 1/12 May 1748 near Beachy Head by the privateers Duke William (Richard Gravener commanding) and Dolphin (Thomas Pierce commanding), and brought into Dover.
