Captured ship: St Johannes of Christiansand (master and owner Hans Sandum).
History: a Danish / Norwegian merchant ship (80 tons, built at Scarborough, 8 men and 2 boys), bound from St Michael's Mount, Cornwall, to Calais or Dunkirk, laden with shilling stones or slate [for 'shelling' oats], Anderson's Pills, Bateman's Drops, women's stays, caps, bays etc (detailed); taken on 14/25 October 1747 between Dover and Calais by the privateer Success (Thomas Hall commanding), and brought into Dover.
