Captured ship: Jupiter of Bayonne (commander Francois Graciet).
History: a French privateer (60 tons, 64 men, 2 carriage guns, 14 swivel guns), bound from Bayonne on a cruise; taken on 9/20 July 1745 about 50 leagues NW of Bayonne, by HMS Prince Frederick (Henry Norris commanding), in sight of HMS Edinburgh and HMS Hampton Court, and brought into Plymouth.
