Captured ship: De Juffrouw Catharina (master Heere Jacobs, otherwise Here Jakobus).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (120 tons, 3 men, 1 boy), bound from La Rochelle to Dunkirk, laden with French brandy; taken on 14/25 July 1747 off Land's End by HMS Fly sloop (Thomas Cookson commanding), and brought into Penzance.
Court Papers:
Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1, SP 2, SP 4, SP 11, SP 48, SP 61 and SP 62 only [the other papers were restored].
[Decision: cargo condemned, ship restored, 8 October 1747]
