Captured ship: St Joseph and St Antonio or S Jose y S Antonio y Anima (master Felipe de Castro, Philip de Castro or Phillipe De Crasto).
History: a Portuguese merchant ship (schooner, 90 tons, 6 swivel guns, 10 or 11 men), bound from Madeira to Tenerife, to the Western Islands [Azores] and back to Madeira, laden with bale goods and pilchards; taken on 25 June/6 July 1743 by HMS Monmouth (Charles Windham commanding) on suspicion of carrying Spanish goods, and brought into Madeira.
