Captured ship: St Joseph of Cap Francois (master Guillaume Perrier).
History: a French merchant ship (200 tons, 14 guns, 21 men, formerly the British ship Finder (master Stephen Ansell), taken by the French in October 1746 when bound from Jamaica to London) now bound from Cap Francois, Saint Domingue to Nantes, laden with sugar, hides, snuff and wood; re-taken in 24 June / 5 July 1747 by the privateer Prince Edward (Thomas Dawson commanding), and brought into the River Thames.
