Captured ship: John and Edward of Sunderland (master Edward Copeland).
History: an English merchant ship [(140 tons, 2 men, 2 boys) taken by Spain on 21 July/[1 August] 1742; after running ashore off Dunkirk, retaken two days later on 23 July 1742], by HMS Neptune Tender (Edward Spragge commanding), and brought into the River Thames.

Decision: restored [paying salvage?], 27 August 1742.
