Captured ship: La Jeune Monarque of Nantes (master Francois Duque).
History: a French merchant ship with letter of marque (200 tons, 12 carriage guns, 39 men), bound from Nantes to Saint Domingue, laden with salt, bricks and tiles; taken on 17/28 March 1748 off the Belle Isle by the privateer Hope (John Ahier commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
