Captured ship: La Jeune Janette of Bayonne (master Pierre Denis Labat).
History: a French merchant ship (25 men), bound from Bayonne to Martinique, laden with provisions; taken in fight on 13 May 1745 about 25 leagues from land by HMS Ferret (Hugh Bonfoy commanding), and brought first into Porto, Portugal and then into the River Thames.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 2 (both missing).
