Description

Captured ship: L'Invincible of Leogane (master Michel Francois Camouin or Camoin).

History: a French merchant ship (90 tons, 4 guns, 6 swivels, 15 men), bound from Havana to Bordeaux, laden with sugar and indigo; taken on 22 July 1745 off Cape Finisterre by the privateer Garland (Robert Taverner commanding), and brought into Lisbon.

Court Papers:

  • [CP 1]: three examinations and commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 2]: attestation;
  • [CP 3]: allegation;
  • [CP 4]: attestation as to papers.

Ship's Papers numbered SP 1-SP 7.

[Decision: condemned as prize, 10 June 1746]
