Captured ship: L'Industrie (master Martin Lisserague).
History: a French ship, (120 tons, 12 men, formerly the English Endeavour of Bristol (master Thomas Kippins), previously taken by the French), bound from Guadeloupe via Martinique to Nantes, laden with sugar and cotton; retaken on 6/17 February 1747 in latitude 47º between Martinique and Nantes by HMS Rye (Charles Wray or Raye commanding) and HMS Captain (Edward Legge commanding), and brought into Bristol.
