Description

Captured ship: L'Indomptable (master Jacques Tueux).

History: a French privateer (20 tons, 2 carriage guns, 8 swivel guns, 33 men), on a cruise from Boulogne; taken on 13/24 September 1745 off Beachy Head by HMS Lizard (Julian Legge commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.

Court Papers:

  • [CP 1]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit (paginated);
  • [CP 2]: allegation;
  • [CP 3]: abstract and translation of the 2 ship's papers.

Ship's Papers marked SP A-SP B.
