Captured ship: Honest Industry of Waterford (master William Taylor).
History: an Irish merchant ship (sloop, New England built, 60 tons, 6 men), bound from Waterford, Ireland to Lisbon, laden with beef; taken first on 27 August 1746 [OS] of Ushant by HMS Dover (Washington Shirley commanding) and brought into Plymouth, and discharged; taken second (having left their direct course to Lisbon for fear of capture) on 22 September 1746 [OS] off St Martin by the privateer Postilion (John Morgan commanding), and brought into Topsham.
Court Papers:
[Decision: restored, 26 November 1747], with the 10 ship's papers.
