Captured ship: Le Heros (master Jeremie Peaud).
History: a French fishing vessel (83 tons, 6 guns, 21 men), bound from Les Sables d'Olonne to Newfoundland, laden with salt and wine; taken on 17/30 Aug 1744 by the privateer Success (John Le Groz or Legros commanding), and brought into the Isles of Scilly.
Court Papers:
- [CP 1-CP 4]: standing interrogatories, two examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
- [CP 5]: allegation;
- [CP 6]: abstract and translation of the 4 ship's papers.
Ship's Papers numbered SP 1-SP 4.
