Ship: Hartenkamp (master Jan Diederik Morel).
History: A Dutch East India Company ship (650 tons, 24 guns, 130 men), bound in December 1748 from the Texel to Batavia.
Documents: journal, December 1748-July 1749; 66pp, currently ending on p58 at the Cape of Good Hope, but as the last 4 folios (8 pages) are torn out, it probably ended at Batavia.
This ship was not captured: perhaps this copy journal was being sent to Amsterdam from Batavia as mail in another ship, taken after July 1749.
