Captured ship: De Hoop or Die Hoffnung of Danzig (master Conradt Harlak or Harlah).
History: a Danzig merchant ship (30-40 lasts, 4 men, 2 boys), bound from Bordeaux to Danzig and Konigsberg, laden with wine, indigo, prunes, treacle, and Hungary water; taken on 6/17 August 1747 off Boulogne by the privateer Chesterfield (Samuel Gilbee commanding), and brought into Dover.
