Captured ship: Le Hazard or Entreprenant or Entrepreneur (master Charles Barbel).
History: a French privateer (110 tons, 12 guns, 110 men), bound from Le Havre on a cruise; taken on 20 May 1746 at the Lizard by HMS Maidstone (Augustus Keppel commanding) and HMS Namur (James Hobbs commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court Papers:
- [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
- [CP 6]: allegation;
- [CP 7]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 2 ship's papers.
Ship's Papers:
SP A-SP B: letter of marque, muster roll.
