Captured ship: El Gran San Juan or Grand St John otherwise La Maravilla of San Sebastian (master Francisco Graziet de Zavala).
History: a Spanish privateer (280 tons, 20 carriage guns, 219 men); taken on 6/17 December 1747 in latitiude 48º about 100 leagues south west of Scilly, by HMS Falkland (Hon George Byron commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
