Description (What the record is about)

Captured boats: two French boats.
History: two French boats, taken on 18/29 August 1747 in Queberon Bay by the privateer Markin of Guernsey (Joseph Oliver commanding), and ransomed.
- Le St François (master Julien Sallow), (11 tons, 4 men), bound from Port Louis, Brittany, to Nantes, laden with pilchards and empty hogsheads, ransomed for 1000 livres.
- Le St Guinole (master Jean Soufene), ransomed for 800 livres.
