Captured ship: St François of Nieuport (master Jacobus Wyllaert).
History: a Flemish fishing boat (herring sloop) owned by the former British consul at Nieuport (20 tons, 0 guns, 7 men and 2 boys), bound from Nieuport to the Flemish coast, laden with 2 lasts of herrings; taken on 15/26 October 1746 between Dunkirk and Nieuport by HMS Shark sloop (Christopher Middleton commanding), and brought into Dover.
